The bank said the launch was also in conjunction with the celebration of Malaysia-China 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the arrival of Chinese pandas Fuwa and Fengyi to Malaysia recently.

Rumours about the Malaysia giant panda coins has been going on in internet since last year. Early rumours said that the coins will be minted in gold and silver. Some friends said the coin will have a design of a tiger and a panda with a hisbiscus flower and bamboo. Most friends said that the coin main design should be Fuwa and Fengyi.
