Mr. Saran Singh is the author of "The Encyclopaedia of the Coins of Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei, 1400-1986". For any numismatics collectors who are interested in collecting Malay Archipelago Money, this book is a must have and it is hard to find original copy of the book nowadays. On 3rd December 1989 he received the honour P.N.M (Pakar Numismatic Malaysia) by Malaysia Numismatic Society. You can read more about his story here;
