Paper Money Guaranty (PMG) has certified the world’s largest legal tender banknotes, 2017 Malaysian 600 Ringgit commemorative notes. The new Malaysia commemorative banknote is larger than a letter-sized sheet of paper.
According to PMG article on 20 February:
"PMG has certified the first submissions of 2017 Malaysian 600 Ringgit commemorative notes, which were recently issued to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Federation of Malaya Independence Agreement. The commemorative notes measure a record-breaking 370 x 220 (14.5 inches by 8.6 inches), a size that makes them the world’s largest legal tender banknotes.
These notes can be encapsulated with a special PMG label that features the crescent moon and 14-point star from the Malaysian flag, elements that are also present on the front of the note. The note’s front also features the 15 monarchs who have presided over the country in the past 60 years. Its back shows nine of the original signatories of the independence agreement.
Only 6,000 of the RM600 commemoratives notes are being issued. (RM = Malaysian Ringgit.) The note’s RM600 face value is equivalent to about $150 (USD)."
You can read about how to submit these notes, and how to get the special PMG label at no additional charge in my earlier article; PMG special label for 60th Merdeka notes.
