3,000 riel Cambodia-Japan diplomatic relations coin

Japan Mint will release a memorial silver coin 3,000 riel 60th anniversary of Cambodia-Japan diplomatic relations coin to commemorate the relations between the two countries.

Japan Mint will mint up to 10,000 of the 3,000-riel coins on behalf of the National Bank of Cambodia for sale mostly to Japanese coin collectors.

One side of the coin depicts the Angkor Wat temple complex, while the other side shows a bilateral friendship logo. The logo symbolize the “60th” anniversary of friendship between Japan and Cambodia by connecting 6 and 0, with the combination of colors of national flags of Japan and Cambodia. The golden color of “2013” and silver color of “Angkor Wat” symbolize the brightness future of the two countries.

The coin will sell for ¥6,000 in Japan with applications set to start Wednesday.
