On 26 February, The United States Mint will open sales for the Harry S. Truman $1 Coin Cover, the 33rd issue in the American Presidency $1 Coin Cover Series. The coin cover features a portrait of President Truman and the postmark of Feb. 26, 2015, Lamar, MO, which marks the day the Harry S. Truman $1 Coin Cover was issued by the United States Mint.
These coins’ designs display large, dramatic artwork and edge-incused inscriptions of the year, “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and the mint mark. Each coin features a likeness of Truman on the obverse (heads) with inscriptions “HARRY S. TRUMAN”, “IN GOD WE TRUST”, “33rd PRESIDENT” and “1945-1953”. The coin reverse (tails) design featuring a striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty.
The coin cover includes two circulating quality Harry S. Truman Presidential $1 Coins from the first day of mintage--Nov. 17, 2014, for the United States Mint at Philadelphia, and Nov. 17, 2014, for the United States Mint at Denver. The coins are mounted on a display card, which is placed inside an envelope bearing a Red, White, and Blue (Forever®) stamp. Only 15,000 units will be produced.

Harry S. Truman was born in Lamar, Missouri, in 1884. After serving in the Missouri National Guard and the U.S. Army, he was elected county court judge before serving two terms in the U.S. Senate.
