NZ Mint Feng Shui Koi Gold Coin

New Zealand Mint has released a Feng Shui Koi ¼ oz Gold Coin to remind us about Chinese tradition, Koi are symbolic of unity and fidelity as they are known to swim together in pairs. Only 888 pieces of the gold coins will be released worldwide. The coins are legal tender of Niue Island.

In Chinese culture, Koi are seen as an auspicious sign of abundance, wealth, and of a perfect union between partners. They have been known to represent fertility, due to their ability to reproduce in great numbers. The symbology of the Koi is closely associated with the energy and flow of water, the mysterious giver of life, health, and nourishment.

The coin reverse show a finely engraved image of two Koi, set against a polished proof finish background bordered with Cherry blossoms. The coin obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
