2014 (R)Evolution €25 Silver Niobium Coin

On 22 January 2014, the Austrian Mint has released a new Silver Niobium series coin, 2014 (R)Evolution €25 Silver Niobium Coin. For the first time, the Niobium coin will be using two different colors within the niobium component, blue/green. Minted to a maximum of 65,000 pieces in Special Uncirculated quality only, the coin contains 9 grammes of 900 Fine Silver in its outer ring and 6.5 grammes of 998 pure niobium. Each piece is encapsulated, boxed and comes complete with a numbered certificate guaranteeing its authenticity.

€25 Niobium

The coin reverse show the history of human development and the diversity of forms of life brought about by evolution. On the reverse the coin design show three hominid figures, a toucan, fish, frog and a mushroom with air bubbles surrounding almost all of them to represent the role oxygen plays in life.

€25 Silver

The obverse coin show the DNA (deoxyribonucleic) and RNA (ribonucleic acid); symbolising the origin of Evolution with wording "REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH" & "EVOLUTION", year of issue, 2014 and face value 25 EURO.
