Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) now offering a new 25 mm thick oversize holder for coins and medals up to 25 mm in thickness. Previously, the maximum thickness that could be encapsulated in an NGC Oversize Holder was 15 mm.
This new holder will enable NGC to encapsulate virtually all sizes of coins and medals, including some of the extremely high relief pieces that have recently been issued by world mints. Made from the same material as the NGC holder that is currently used by the Smithsonian Institution for its most important rarities, this holder is designed for long-term preservation and protection. It also has numerous security features, including an advanced hologram, to deter tampering and counterfeiting.
All coins over 45 mm in diameter will be encapsulated in an NGC Oversize Holder. Coins that require an NGC Oversize Holder must be submitted on a separate submission form with "NGC Oversize Holder" selected in the Services box. There is an additional fee of $20 for the NGC Oversize Holder.
The 25 mm thick NGC Oversize Holder is now available for all submissions to NGC, including on-site grading submissions in China and Hong Kong.
