France Monnaie de Paris has released a 2014 FIFA World Cup Coin with a domed shaped coins in gold and silver. These is the second time a domed shaped coin released for 2014 after the popular US 2014 Baseball Hall of Fame Commemorative Coins. The beautiful coin combines two different elements : the representation of Brazil and of the Maracanã stadium magnified by the use of the dome shape striking on the two 37mm coins (1 Oz gold and €10 Silver).
The coin obverse depicts a map of Brazil delimited by stylized elements of flora and fauna. In the middle of the country map, the competitions logo and official name are represented.
The coin reverse represents the Maracanã stadium in aerial view. The name of the stadium, the name of the competition and the RF mention are inscribed on the roof of the stadium. On the foreground, a ball on which the face value is written, springs from the stadium.
2014 FIFA World Cup™ will be the 20th FIFA World Cup and will take place in Brazil from 12 June to 13 July 2014. The Estádio do Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro, which already holds the record attendance for a FIFA World Cup Finals match (199,854-FIFA World Cup 1950), is the largest of the stadiums and will stage the final.
