Fake Perth Mint gold bar warning

Fake Perth Mint gold bar are found in a forgery factory in Wenzhou in south east China. The fake gold bars are sold at $1 each for a minimum order of 300 pieces. This is a warning to all my blog readers, on 22 October 2012, there are reports by Yahoo! 7 News about fake Perth Mint gold bar. The report complete with a video showing a tour into the forgery factories. It show hundreds of fake gold bar with the front stamped "Perth Mint Australia" and kangaroos on reverse. The copy is the same design and weight used by Perth Mint. There is no report what material are used to make the counterfeit gold bar but with a price of just $300 for a minimum order of 300 pieces ($1 each), I don't think any gold used in them. A few months back, ABC Bullion of Australia reported about finding 1 kilo Tungsten Gold found in UK, complete with pictures of the legitimate Metalor 1000gm Au bar filled with tungsten.

As reported by Seven News;

"There are some poor people out there who have gone and bought these products thinking they've got a bargain and have actually been ripped off," Ron Currie from the Perth Mint said.

"If it looks like a deal that's too good to refuse - you should refuse it. Secondly the quality - the quality is nowhere near as good as the real product," he said.

"We'll of course follow it through and take it up with the Australian Federal Police.

"The Australian Federal police are very helpful and are very interested in stopping counterfeits or copies coming into Australia."
