BNM Officials sell banknote in a bundle?

Today, a reader email me his dissatisfaction about irresponsible Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Officials who sell New Malaysia Banknote to Singaporean in a bundle. I am not sure if this (BNM Official selling items in a bundle without following BNM rules) story is true but it has been around long time ago. On 3rd January 2012,  BNM has announce a new rules that stated buyer can only buy 1 set for premium and 5 sets each for the set of 2 and set of 1. Until today (15/2/2012), you can still get the premium set at BNM Kuala Lumpur and some BNM branches. I cannot say anything about this since this is just a hear say, no real evidence to support a story about BNM Officials sell banknote in a bundle. But I myself had witness a big time dealer taking a bundle of WWF commemorative coins when BNM saying all the gold and silver has been finished from their branches.

New Malaysia Banknote

Here is the email by the readers:
Dear Lunaticg
I am a big fan of your blog. I noticed that you have significant coverage over the new Malaysian banknotes and it is very helpful to all Malaysian collector. Thank you very much for your continuous effort.
I am writing today to share an appalling news on how our new banknotes are being traded outside Malaysia and thus depriving our fellow Malaysian collectors. There is an ebay seller in Singapore offerring to sell a bundle of 100 pieces of the entire series with matching numbers (http://www.ebay.com.sg/ -I am deleting the link but you can check in eBay Singapore). One must be thinking how is it possible for that Singaporean to have 100 pieces when each person is only entitled to one premium set? This is a despicable act and a new low for the officials of the bank negara. It is sad to learn about this. I was further informed that there is a huge quantity of the new Malaysian banknotes presently being circulated in Singapore since there is a huge demand for Malaysian banknotes in that tiny islands. I was told that these Singapore would hog the banknotes and later on sell back to Malaysian after a few years with substantial profit!!! I am hoping that something can be done in an united effort to curb such an irresponsible act by Bank Negara officials. I hope you can help to spread the news on irresponsible act by Bank Negara officials. I am sure some of your readers will have more to share.

If anyone out there has any proof of any wrong doing by BNM officials, please email me at lunaticg@gmail.com. Its really a big lost to all Malaysian collectors, when only dealers who get all the new commemorative coins and banknotes. I think BNM has been doing a very good changes, we can just hope they (BNM Officials) can follow the rules them-self.
