FELCRA coins will be on sale tomorrow

Bank Negara Malaysia is issuing commemorative coins in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (FELCRA). These commemorative coins were launched by YAB Dato' Sri Mohd. Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia today at the Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

FELCRA was established in 1966 with the objective of improving the standard of living of Malaysia’s rural sector through greater participation in the economy. Building on its plantation management and land rehabilitation capabilities, FELCRA has diversified its activities into the industrial, service sectors and other business areas.

Coin obverse show an images of palm oil and rubber trees, amidst the green landscape which represent the core plantation business of FELCRA are depicted in the centre of the coin, with roads which lead to the skyline of Kuala Lumpur in the background. The words “SAMBUTAN JUBLI EMAS FELCRA” appear on the upper circumference of the coin while the years 1966-2016 are inscribed on the lower circumference.

Coin reverse show the words “BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA” as the issuing authority of the commemorative coin is featured on the upper circumference of the coin, while the face value of the coin is inscribed on the lower circumference. In between, the official anniversary logo of FELCRA is featured on the coin.


Specifications of the commemorative coins are as follows:

1. Coloured Silver Commemorative Coin (proof)
This proof coloured coin is made of Fine Silver with 99.9 purity and weighs 31.10 grams. It has a face value of RM10 and the selling price is RM200 a piece. The mintage quantity is 700 pieces.

2. Nordic Gold Brilliant Uncirculated (B.U) Commemorative Coin
The Nordic Gold (B.U) coin has a face value of RM1 and the selling price is RM10 a piece. The mintage quantity is 13,000 pieces.

3. Sets of 2
These commemorative coins are also available in Sets of 2 which comprise the coloured silver and nordic gold proof coins. The set will be sold at RM250 per set with 2,000 sets available.


FELCRA commemorative coins are issued by Bank Negara Malaysia and will be available for sale from 21 December 2016 at Bank Negara Malaysia’s Museum and Art Gallery (MAG) located at Sasana Kijang, 2 Jalan Dato’ Onn, Kuala Lumpur and its regional offices located in Pulau Pinang, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching and its branch in Kuala Terengganu.
