3rd Series RM50 B/1 000001 sold for RM95,264

A 50 Ringgit 3rd Series Signed by Ismail Md. Ali with a very low serial number B/1 000001 graded by PMG 64 UNC sold for RM95,264 (including 18 % buyer premium & 6% gst) in Trigometric Auction 3 held at Hilton Hotel, Petaling Jaya today (20 March 2016).

update: Today (14 April 2016), Trigometric Sdn Bhd is pleased to announced the results of their March 2016 auction. The total realised price RM748,130 at the close. (All prices exclude the standard buyer’s premium & GST).

50 ringgit

The low serial number banknote (Lot 212) attract a lot of interest from everyone in the Serunai Suite, Hilton Hotel Petaling Jaya especially when the price going up for RM80,000. The lot won by unknown internet bidder, the starting bid price is RM50,000.

A pair of 1940 Specimen Malaya banknotes sold at the reserve price; $1 dollar Specimen banknote (Lot 358) graded PMG 55 NET sold for RM120,000 (excluding buyer premium & 6% gst) and $5 dollars Specimen banknote (Lot 357) graded PMG 55 sold for RM80,000 (excluding buyer premium & 6% gst). Both banknotes bought by phone bidder.

During coins session, Malaysia 500 Ringgit 1976 Malayan Tapir gold coin (Lot 8) sold for RM8,000 and 1 oz Malaysia Kijang Emas gold bullion coin (Lot 9) also sold for RM8,000. A rare 45th Annversary of Independence 2002 (Lot 37) Proof set of 3 (RM1, RM10 & 100 Gold), mintage only 100 set sold for RM5,600.

Ali Abu Hassan

A 1 Ringgit Signed by Ali Abu Hassan serial number CR7235295 sold for RM5,400 (excluding buyer premium & 6% gst). The banknote is graded PMG 65 EPQ.
