50 sen 1969 SE in MNS158 auction

A 50 sen 1969 Security Edge coin will be one of the highlights in Malaysia Numismatic Society Auction MNS No.158 that will be held on 22nd December 2013 at Jabatan Muzium Malaysia, Muzium Negara, Jalan Petalawati, 50480 Kuala Lumpur around 9am. The 50 sen 1969 SE is not graded by any third party grading (NGC or PCGS) and graded by MNS as a AU/UNC with a starting bid price at RM1,200. Will there be another new record breaking for the Most Expensive Malaysia coin?

A record for The Most Expensive Malaysia circulation coins sold in Auction hold by a 1969 50 sen Milled edge coin sold for SGD4012 or RM10,253 (including buyer premium) in Numismatic Society Asia (NSA) Auction at Landmark Village Hotel, Singapore on 19 October 2013.

Previously, the record held by a 1 sen 1976 copper sold in an auction by Monetarium Singapore for SGD2,600 (Excluding buyer premium & charges). The rare 1 sen 1976 Copper graded By Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) as Bronze: 1-Sen 1976 (KM1) PCGS MS65 RD.1 sen 1976 PCGS MS 65 RD Sold SGD2,600.
