From 22 June until 10 November 2012, Bank of England Museum will held an exhibition "Gold and the Bank of England" to examines the part gold has played during the Bank's long history and the Bank's role in relation to gold today. The exhibition will be a great place to visit during the school summer holidays since they're a lots of activity for kids of all ages. They can enter gold quiz competition and win some prizes or make a gold-bar-shaped money box. The Museum also will give a presentations about gold in the Museum cinema at 1:15pm.

One of the gold that will be in the exhibit is a newly minted one kilo Diamond Jubilee gold coin by Royal Mint. The gold coin valued at £60,000 and only 60 pieces were minted by Royal Mint to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee celebration.

Beside gold coins, you can also see extremely rare Roman gold bars, historic banknotes (repayable in gold) along with the story of the Gold Standard and cartoons touching on gold. Visitors will get a rare opportunity lift a London bullion market bar weighing approximately 13kg of pure (99.95%) gold with a current value of over £400,000.
