Titanic 100th Anniversary Silver Coin

New Zealand Mint has released Titanic 100th Anniversary 1oz Silver Coin Set. The Titanic coin is pure .999 Silver and limited to 2,229 coin sets only. Each set is presented in a custom display case of a ships porthole and a ticket type certificate of authenticity comes with each set which includes the history surrounding the RMS Titanic. RMS Titanic was the largest passenger steamship in the world when she set off on her maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York City on 10 April 1912. Four days into the crossing, at 23:40 on 14 April 1912, she struck an iceberg and sank at 2:20 the following morning, resulting in the deaths of 1,517 people in one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history.


Reverse Design
This features an the image of the Titanic. The background detailing features a nautical map with compass detailing around the outer edge of the coin.


Obverse Design
The obverse of the coin features the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, sovereign of the Commonwealth and Niue Island, along with the year of issue and the denomination of $2.

Each set is presented in a custom display case of a ships porthole and a ticket type certificate of authenticity comes with each set.
