Salam Maal Hijrah 1432H

Tomorrow Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin will officially launch the National-Level Maal Hijrah 1432H/2010M celebration at the Dewan Plenari, Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC). Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah is also scheduled to attend the event. The celebration with the theme "1Malaysia 1Ummah" would also be attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his wife, Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, Cabinet ministers and foreign ambassadors.


According to a statement from the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) on Sunday, the theme suited the efforts of the government to build a united community based on the 1Malaysia concept by inculcating solidarity and strength to achieve a glorious ummah that could compete in facing the flow of globalisation as well as the development of science and technology currently. The ceremony, scheduled to start at 8.30am, will see 79 contingents from the various government agencies, statutory bodies and the private sector participating in the gathering.
