Official Royal Engagement coins

The Royal Mint already released official design of Royal Engagement coin-Royal Engagement Alderney £5 to celebrate the engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton. You can make order now but the item is still awaiting stock and its normally will be delivered within 21 days. The special betrothal design has received Royal approval from Prince William and Her Majesty The Queen.


They're 4 type of coins for the Official Royal Engagement. The coin will be struck in cupro-nickel, .925 sterling silver, .925 sterling silver plated with fine gold and 22 carat proof gold crown. The cupro-nickel is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and will come in a designed presentation folder with only 50,000 presentation folders have been authorised. The sterling silver coin is subject to a maximum coin mintage of 25,000. The .925 sterling silver plated with fine gold coin is subject to a maximum coin mintage of 5,000. The proof gold coin is subject to a maximum coin mintage of 1,300.


This coin has been authorised by the Channel Island of Alderney with a denomination of £5. The reverse design will feature Prince William and Catherine Middleton portrait by Matthew Bonaccorsi. The obverse will feature the Queen’s portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS. The date and place of Prince William and Kate Middleton wedding has been officially announced by Clarence House. The ceremony will be held at Westminster Abbey on 29 April 2011.
