The book every coin collector in Malaysia had been waiting for the past few months came out last Friday. Its been a long wait but something that really worth it. I going to Steven Tan shop in Pertama Complex on Saturday to pick up my books. I am lucky when Mr. Steven Tan himself is in the shop. I take this opportunity to take picture with him and asked for a personal autograph on the book. I am glad he agree. He is one of the people who influence me when I start collecting again in 2003. His books is a must for every coin collector in this country, Singapore and Brunei.

I haven't finish studying the whole book yet but I can see some of the minted 2010 coins in this book. Maybe that when they started to prepare for this books. Looking at the famous Malaysia coins 1971 10 sen, the price is not far from the market value RM200 for Uncirculated. The price for Uncirculated one ringgit signed by Ali Abul also at the Market price of RM1,800. Beside the normal new commemorative or circulation coin and banknote, new items also included in this book are The Government of Sarawak Liberation Note and Malaya Board of Commisioners of Currency Hand Executed Essay (c.1937). Both item listed in Spink Catalogue in 2009.

There is no error coins for Malaysia bunga raya recorded in this book. Even though some of the collector in Malaysia busy looking for them. I am not sure if some of you knew anything about it. Overall, this book is almost the same as the 2007 book but with the new market price. What I can see is more advertisement in this book. almost 100 pages of them altogether. To anyone of you who still don't own it, buy them. It a must if you called yourself as a coin collector for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei coins. You can try go to Steven Tan shop, if you get lucky like me. You might can get his personal autograph.

Steven TanThank you Mr. Steven Tan for 50 years of service to Malaysia Numismatic.
