Korean Tiger Gold Bullion start selling June 2016

On 8 April, Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corporation (KOMSCO) announced the release of the Korean Tiger Bullion Series Medal in June 2016.

KOMSCO was inspired by minting corporations in major countries such as the U.S., Great Britain, Australia and China which produce bullion gold coins to meet demand from gold investors and coin collectors.

The new Korean Tiger Bullion Series Medal obverse features a Korean tiger, symbol of courage, power and good luck.

On the reverse, the Korean peninsula is illustrated using Hangul, or the Korean script which is recognized as the most scientific writing system in the world.

Korean Tiger strongly associated with Korean people and Korean culture.

In the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, Hodori, a Siberian tiger was chosen as the mascot for the Olympics games.

KOMSCO Tiger Gold Bullion coin will be released yearly using its coining manufacturing technologies and special anti-counterfeit technologies.

The price of the Korean Tiger Bullion Series Medal changes according to the market value of gold.

In addition, it has used its traditional hall mark and latent image technology, which changes letters according to the angles, in order to prevent forgery. Through the strict quality control, the medal guarantees the high purity (Au 999.9) and accurate weight of gold.

In a bid to maximize the value of collection as its first bullion medal, KOMSCO will produce three types of the proof level in limited quantities.
