10kg Goat Gold Coin displayed in Taipei

Taishin International Bank, Taipei will display 10kg Year of the Goat gold coin in the eleven branches of Taishin International Bank. The coin, issued in a limited edition of 18, has a face value of NT$100,000, but is worth about NT$30 million (US$954,300). Only 18 such gold coins were issued by the People's Bank of China.

The common obverse of the gold coin features the national emblem of the People’s Republic of China, auspicious design of lotus and fish symbolizing a surplus year after year,the title of PRC and the year date. The common reverse show an argali sheep with the background of decorative sheep head pattern, the face valueand the words of “Yi Wei” in Chinese.

The 10kg round gold coin is proof in quality, 180mm in diameter, 100000 Yuan in face value, 99.9% in fineness and contains 10kg of pure gold. The total mintage is 18 pieces.

The People’s Bank of China has issued The 2015 Year of the Sheep gold and silver commemorative coins on October 10th 2014. The program consists of 16 coins, with 9 in gold and 7 in silver, all of which are the legal tender of the People’s Republic of China.
