20 Gulden 1850 Gold Proof in Java Auction 12

A very rare Netherlands William III 20 Gulden 1850 gold proof coin will be auctioned by JAVA AUCTION, an Auction Organizer domiciled in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. The Java Auction No. 12 will be held at RedTop Hotel, Jakarta on September 20, 2014. I read rumours if the coin is sold, it will be a history for Indonesia coin community as the most expensive coins ever sold in Indonesia. The reserve price for the 20 Gulden 1850 gold proof coin is set at Rp. 120,000,000 (US$9991).

NETHERLANDS, 20 GULDEN 1850 (PROOF). Gold. KM# 96. Obv : Willem III, head left. Rev : Crowned arms with 3/4 wreath. Privy mark : Sword. Edge lettering : GOD*ZY*MET*ONS*. Designer : D. van der Kellen, Jr. Weight 13.52 gm; 0.9000 fine gold. A tiny nick at bottom rim; otherwise Proof, Uncirculated. VERY RARE.

The coins were only circulated in the Sumatra areas, since these types have never been found in Java or other areas. Obv : Devanagari character "Ta"; Rev : Four-petalled sandalwood flower pattern in a deep square incuse.
